ABOUT AFRICAN FORESTRY DATABASE

African Forestry Database is the first database on forestry in Africa. It was created in 2018, by the Laboratory of Applied Ecology of the University of Abomey Calavi in Benin and the Benin Centre for Scientific Research and Innovation, to meet the need to set up a library on forest science in Africa. The database is a platform for sharing data and information on biomass, litter, dead wood and soil. It aims to make information available on a single platform and to stimulate research on forest science in Africa.

The selection and use of data in the database remains the responsibility of the user. The forestry theme is considered in a broader context integrating land use and land-use change (forest land, cropland, grasslands, wetlands settlements).

The data and information presented in the database come mainly from scientific publications on research conducted on forestry on Africa".
